This degree will give you the knowledge and practical skills needed for a professional career in the animation industry. Using top-of-the-line hardware and premium industry-recognised software, you’ll produce original animated projects from concept to delivery. You’ll learn skills in concept development, storyboarding, 2D, 3D and stop motion character animation, editing, sound recording, visual effects and post production. You will also choose one of three majors: animating, art direction and technical direction, each based on a foundation of drawing, screen analysis, scriptwriting and animation principles. Whatever your interests and career aspirations in the field of animation are, this degree has them covered: you will receive a year of generalist training, before developing your specialisation in second and third year via your major. There’s also space for electives to enhance your majors and develop secondary skillsets through subjects such as post-production, VFX, motion capture, stop-motion and comics. Client work and internships that are part of this degree will help you sketch out your future career. For more course information, visit Bachelor of Animation at GU.
