Students learn how the human body works and what happens when diseases, infections and clinical disorders occur. First-year studies include cell biology or bioscience, chemistry, science research methods, human anatomy and physiology. Advanced courses include physiology, medical genetics pathophysiology, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, immunology and pharmacology. Students undertake placements in hospitals, clinical trial centres, pharmaceutical companies, and medical research institutes. The program prepares graduates for entry into postgraduate medical courses, postgraduate research, or employment in health and medical related fields.
