Biotechnologists design innovative products and technologies. They work across new frontiers in health, agriculture, science and engineering. This collaborative, transdisciplinary program spans many scientific and engineering disciplines. You’ll learn molecular genetics, bioinformatics, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, cells and genes. Study physics, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, and other essential subjects to develop your core technical, laboratory and commercialisation skills relating to successfully delivering biotechnology products to global markets. Build your expertise in one of five specialist areas: Agricultural Biotechnology, Chemical and Nano Biotechnology, Medical Biotechnology, Molecular and Microbial Biotechnology or Synthetic Biology and Industrial Biotechnology. Choose to undertake a Student Industry Placement or Internship to gain further practical experience in solving technical or operational problems.
