Bachelor of Songwriting and Music Production
Full time Part time
SAE Creative Media Institute - Brisbane

Course outline

In preparation for an industry that commands agility and adaptability, this dynamic course will help you cut your creative teeth on songwriting and music production. You’ll be in a studio environment – learning contemporary songwriting strategies, music production technology and skills, nuances of performance, and recording techniques, as well as creating music for other media like games, film/screen and for live performance.

Your growth and development will be assessed through the completion of industry-based projects, not theoretically based essays. These projects will contribute to your personal song/music portfolio that you’ll be able to showcase to the music industry.

Areas of study: Contemporary songwriting, music production practice, acoustic and electronic music, recording techniques, principles of sound, music and audio technology.

Note

Duration is two years full-time. Part-time study available for eligible applicants (excluding international student visa holders).
SAE has a range of approaches to learning and teaching that can be activated to provide flexibility in the face of changing circumstances as required, to support student progression regardless of external factors.
